Summer Chalet Team

French Alps
Apply for this role

What you'll be doing.

You will be self-motivated and able to work without supervision. You will need to be hardworking and a great people person. As part of our Chalet team you will share your time between basic admin duties, hospitality tasks and guest interaction. Area knowledge, activity knowledge and a high level of customer service experience are all very beneficial to this role.

Our Alpine Club package allows guests to enjoy the luxury and freedom of a summer chalet holiday, with the added excitement of an activity package. Guests can book from a range of local activities, including biking, swimming, climbing, pony rides, archery, ice skating, rafting and more.

Our 2 chalet staff work as a team, responsible for ensuring all elements of the holiday run smoothly from start to finish. One person is the Chalet Manager and one is the Chalet Host. The Chalet Manager will always need to plan ahead, ensuring nothing is forgotten when it comes to booking guest activities, organising catering supplies, buying cleaning supplies, dealing with transfers, creating a housekeeping rota etc. The Manager will be experienced in this role and will take overall responsibility for the success of the product. The Manager will be the most senior member of BeyondBeach staff in France, working closely with the Operations Manager based in the UK. The Chalet Host will be pro-active in supporting the manager and will be delegated key tasks each day to ensure the smooth running of the chalet. These tasks will include essential factors like cleaning, meal preparation and chalet presentation but also customer service and activity provision. Both the Manager and the Host will work together with the hands-on domestic tasks.

The chalet roles have two key parts:

, Provide a dedicated concierge service throughout the guest's stay. You will greet the guests on arrival, make friends with them, be available to them, and ensure they receive VIP treatment. Whilst all the time maintaining the perfect balance of being available versus offering privacy.

, Provide catering and housekeeping services. You will need to be confident and experienced in food and beverage preparation. Providing breakfast and evening meals. You will need to provide a daily room cleaning service, whilst also ensuring the upkeep and cleanliness of the property as a whole.

The weekly routine will include such tasks as: cleaning rooms ready for new arrivals, greeting guests on arrival, providing a brief welcome talk, answering questions, providing recommendations, upselling activities, supplying pre-booked provision packs, booking excursions, booking taxi's, booking activities, solving problems, preparing breakfasts, preparing evening meals, providing welcome drinks and being a 24/7 emergency contact. It is a very varied and flexible role whereby you are required to respond professionally and efficiently to a range of requests and queries from your guests. You must have amazing customer service skills and simply do all you can to ensure the guests have the best holiday possible.

For the Chalet Manager there will also be some admin tasks throughout the week. These will be dictated by a weekly checklist and will include such things as: preparing arrival manifests, placing welcome letters in rooms, accounting for petty cash, taking card payments, completing waivers, compiling feedback scores and compiling weekly reports.

If you love the idea of your own project to work on and your own product to take care of, then this is the job for you. Working closely as a team of 2 you will enjoy creating a friendly, professional, and welcoming holiday experience for all our Alpine guests. At busy times, you will have approximately 30 guests to look after. A confident and outgoing personality is essential to ensure that all of the guests know who you are. You are the go-to person for guests' questions, queries, and general chitchat. You are the face of the company for all our Alpine guests. Personality really is key. You’ll need to be organised, reliable, have excellent interpersonal skills, understand that no two days are the same, and be happy making friends with a range of people. Your working routine will often be dictated by the requests of your guests. You need to be someone who can pre-empt problems, someone who knows how to use initiative to find great solutions, and without question, you’ll need a ‘can-do’ attitude at all times.

An example of daily hours is: 07:00 , 12:00 and 15:30 , end of meal service. However, this will vary day by day. Work is carried out 5.5 days a week. One day a week is changeover day, and this is a 07:00 till late shift . This is to ensure both the departing and incoming guests are all looked after to the highest standard. Working hours are flexible to the needs of the company. It is really important that all our staff recognise the need to be flexible in their approach to work. The very nature of our jobs means that no two days are the same. Your daily routine will need to be flexible to the requests of the guest.

We pride ourselves on offering our staff a different experience. We do all we can to ensure that your time with us is rewarding and enjoyable. We aim for all of our staff to finish their time with us having gained new qualifications and/or experiences to help further their career.
