Kefalonia is the easiest entry point. The Lixouri Bay Beach Club runs the full watersports centre with instruction included, the flights are short, and the water is as sheltered as the Med gets. Feel Viana in Portugal is the other good pick for families who want Atlantic surf rather than Aegean calm.
No. The Greek and Portuguese destinations run May to October, Vaujany and Val Thorens run for the winter ski season (December to April), Vaujany additionally has a short summer alpine programme in July and August.
Every single one. Stira Bay and Vaujany in particular are set up around kids clubs, shallow-water tuition and family chalet catering. Lixouri and Val Thorens are more mixed, with plenty for families but also teens and adults who want a harder week on the water or the snow.
