Our BEAUTIFUL Chalet in Vaujany

a stunning chalet in the French alps in the summer

Welcome to MAISON Rostaing, a combination of three adjacent chalets in La Villette de Vaujany. Sleeps up to 26 in 13 seperate bedrooms.

A perfect ALPINE environment

The complex was created from an old Alpine farm house, that has been beautifully converted and meticulously restored. Over the three properties there’s as much of the original stone and wood as possible, reminding you of its roots.

About Vaujany

Alpine scenery in Vaujany, France

Vaujany, with 300 days of sunshine per year, is paradise for walking and multi-activity holidays in the French Alps. The famous walking route GR54 starts and finishes in Bourg d’Oisans below and passes through the hills and valleys only a few miles away, through the Ecrins National Park.

In the summer months Vaujany transforms back to its centuries old farming roots with locals going about their business. Smell the beautiful meadow flowers and fresh mountain air, and listen to the gentle, almost meditational, clang of cow bells on the pastures above while La Fare waterfall, now set free of its frozen state, tumbles down the rock face opposite.

Feel at home in Vaujany, the perfect alpine mountain resort in the Oisans.

Getting there – LOW CARBON travel options

Car

The majority of our summer guests drive from the UK and you’ll benefit from a car when on holiday to take full advantage of the splendid French Alps setting, and probably bring your own bikes with you.

Vaujany is an hour from Grenoble and only 570 miles from Calais (of which 535 miles is motorway). It is certainly doable in a day. However, why not enjoy the scenic drive on the way down? Reims, Dijon or Lyon make for interesting stop-offs if you prefer to break up the journey.

Train

Grenoble is a mere three hours by TGV from Paris – it couldn’t be easier! It makes for such a hassle free, quick way of arriving in the French Alps. There are plenty of car hire firms right by the train station in Grenoble and in just over an hour you can be in Vaujany alpine mountain resort and in your chalet! Check out Eurostar for the latest prices/availability.

Fly

The closest airports to Vaujany / Alpe d’Huez during the summer months are Lyon and Geneva. Both airports are serviced by British Airways, Easjet and other major airlines from the UK. Cars can easily be hired from both airports

Planning a Family Activity Holiday in the Alps with BeyondBeach

  1. How to Book – all the holiday details, prices and more will soon be available on our website. You’ll be able to book on-line.
  1. Pack Wisely: Depending on the activities you have planned, make sure to pack appropriate clothing, footwear, and equipment. Don’t forget essentials like sunscreen, rash vests, sun hats, and good footwear. Pack light however, as in the summer months you’ll only really need bike gear, shorts, T-shirts and swimwear. The weather can change quickly in the Alps though so be prepared and throw in a fleece.
  2. Stay Flexible: While it’s important to have a plan, be open to unexpected opportunities and changes. Sometimes the best experiences happen when you least expect them. Be prepared to adapt your planned activities based on weather conditions and any unforeseen circumstances. All our alpine activities are of course weather dependent but usually it’s warm and sunny in August.
  3. Travel with a low carbon option : We encourage you to drive or take the train. Both really easy options and great for the planet. There are lots of options but plan ahead to get the best availability.
