What we say
New for winter 2027, Chalet La Grange d'Alice is our own catered chalet in Les Arcs. It sits in the hamlet of Les Granges at 1,222m, perched above the Tarentaise valley on the mountainside between Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Arc 1600. The building is a genuine 200-year-old chalet d'alpage, restored with old, locally sourced stone and timber, and it has kept its character: rough-hewn beams, an open log fire, a copper cauldron on the wall. Underneath all that it is thoroughly modern, with solar-powered underfloor heating, free WiFi throughout and a dedicated ski room.
The location is the point. Two pistes from Arc 1600, an easy blue and a red, run right down to the hamlet, so most afternoons you ski to within a few metres of the door. Going up, the free Les Arcs Express funicular stops at Les Granges 150m from the chalet and has you at Arc 1600 in minutes, with the whole Paradiski beyond: 425km of pistes across Les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry and La Plagne, from 1,200m up to 3,226m on the Aiguille Rouge. A beginners' area sits next to the funicular station for first-timers.
Six bedrooms sleep up to 14: an en-suite double, an en-suite twin, two twins sharing a bathroom, and two family rooms each with two singles plus bunks and their own bathroom. The open-plan lounge and dining room opens onto a south-facing terrace and a long balcony looking across the valley to La Plagne and Valmorel. After the last run there is a sauna, an eight-person outdoor hot tub in the snow, and the fire. Your BeyondBeach chalet team cooks breakfast and afternoon tea every day and dinner with wine six nights out of seven.
Book a room for one of our two hosted weeks (9 to 16 January 2027, or half term 13 to 20 February 2027), or take the whole chalet for a family or friends week on any other Saturday between 19 December 2026 and 13 March 2027.

Itinerary
A catered week at La Grange d'Alice has a simple rhythm: breakfast, funicular, ski, tea, hot tub, dinner. Below is how most groups spend it. Swap any day for a rest day in Bourg-Saint-Maurice, a long lunch on the Peisey side, or a trip over the Vanoise Express to La Plagne.
Location
- Chalet La Grange d'Alice, Les ArcsYour base
Les Arcs
Les Arcs is the big, high, sunny side of the Paradiski: four purpose-built villages strung along the mountain above Bourg-Saint-Maurice, 425km of linked piste with La Plagne, and a free funicular that gets you from the valley to the snow in seven minutes. We are here from winter 2027 with our own catered chalet in the old hamlet of Les Granges.
Getting there
Les Arcs is one of the easiest French resorts to reach without a car. The chalet is 150m from the Les Granges stop on the Les Arcs Express funicular, which runs down to Bourg-Saint-Maurice railway station in a few minutes, so the TGV from Paris or the direct Eurostar ski service lands you almost at the door. Flying, Geneva is the usual choice (about 2hr 30min by road), with Chambéry (about 1hr 45min), Lyon and Grenoble as alternatives. Flights and transfers can be booked through us for full ATOL protection.
Saturday changeover. Geneva has the most UK flights; Chambéry is closest. Bourg-Saint-Maurice station is a few minutes below the chalet by funicular, so the train is a real option for a whole-chalet group. Self-drive from Calais is about 9 hours; there is parking at the chalet.
If you are taking the whole chalet, look at the train. Eurostar and TGV both reach Bourg-Saint-Maurice, the funicular is free, and you arrive 150m from the door with no transfer to organise. If you are flying, Geneva on a Saturday morning with a shared transfer is the simplest.
