Chalet Sika is a stunning privately-owned south-facing ski chalet in Vaujany, part of the Alpe d'Huez ski area in the French Alps. Luxuriously furnished with a sophisticated, relaxed style; the open-plan living space with huge windows and a central fireplace makes it the kind of chalet you want to come back to after the slopes.
Seven bedrooms across two floors: two king rooms, one twin, and two family suites (each with a king room plus a separate bedroom with adult-size bunks, a shared bathroom and a separate WC). All rooms get 5-star hotel mattresses, Egyptian cotton bedlinen, fluffy towels and en-suite bathrooms. The chalet sleeps up to around 14 guests comfortably.
Above the main living space there's a 60m² mezzanine with sofa seating, a bistro table football, games and a great view of the mountains. Just 100m from the main gondola and a short stroll into Vaujany village for its restaurants, bars, bakery and swimming centre. Rented as a whole chalet only.

Chalet Sika rents as a self-catered holiday by default, but almost every group picks up the optional catered service. The chef handles breakfasts, afternoon tea and five of your seven dinners, leaving two evenings free for the village restaurants. The chalet kitchen is fully equipped if you prefer to cook (two dishwashers, three ovens, wine fridge, Nespresso) and Vaujany's supermarket and bakery are a short walk.

The quiet highlight of the chef service is afternoon tea: homemade cake, a pot of tea, the central fireplace lit, ski boots drying in the boot room. Group comes back off the mountain, drops their kit, and collapses into the big L-shaped sofa for half an hour. The best part of the day isn't the skiing.

A ski week at Chalet Sika is a loose structure. Below is how most groups find a rhythm; swap any day for a rest day, a mountain lunch long, or a trip to Alpe d'Huez for the Sarenne black run.
Steeped in traditional Alpine history, Vaujany is a beautifully preserved village high in the French Alps, offering a quieter, family-friendly alternative to the big-name resorts. Part of the Alpe d'Huez ski area, it delivers year-round adventure in the mountains without the crowds.
Vaujany is a short drive from four airports: Grenoble (~100 min), Chambery (~100 min), Lyon (~2 hr) and Geneva (~2 hr 45 min). Flight time from the UK is typically 1hr 40 to 2 hours. Flights are not usually included — we can book them as part of an ATOL-protected package (ATOL 12803). Many groups prefer to self-drive from the UK to bring their own kit.
Grenoble (GNB) and Chambery (CMF) are the most convenient for Vaujany in winter. Lyon (LYS) and Geneva (GVA) both work with slightly longer transfers and more direct UK flights. Self-drive is popular — ~9 hours from Calais, motorway-only, easy with family.
If you're a whole-chalet group, drive. You'll bring your own kit, have wheels for non-ski days, and the 9-hour trip from Calais is motorway the whole way. If you're flying, aim for Grenoble or Chambery for the shortest transfer.
We did a ski holiday with Beyond Beach. A beautiful chalet, great food (cakes!, thank you Becky), lovely chalet hosts (Alan and Becky) and a nice crowd of people. Everything (including transfers) was well organised. We will definitely consider Beyond Beach for future holidays.
Well done to all at Beyond Beach after a fabulous time skiing at Chalet Saskia in Vaujany France. Very spacious chalet with great chefs/food and chalet hosts to boot. Would recommend for families or groups of friends looking to enjoy the chalet with Vaujany being fairly quiet on the ‘Apres’ front. Great lift systems out of Vaujany with easy access over to Alpe Du Hez… Minimal beginner slopes in Vaujany however. Good value for money especially with airport transfers thrown in.. Can only hope the ski ventures expand as would re book with this company. P.s. Jacuzzi was great, especially with the views 👍
Ski Holiday in Vaujany. Chalet Saskia is absolutely lovely and in a prime location, just a short walk from the ski lift, where you can store your ski / board kit in a heated locker at the ski hire shop. Free of charge!!! From the start the experience was very relaxed with all our needs being catered for by the fantastic Alan and Beckie who looked after us at Saskia. For 5 of the 7 evenings we were served an evening meal was chef cooked and to a high standard. A number of fellow guests had particular dietary requirements, which were catered for. The skiing and boarding in the area was fantastic. The apres ski was spent in the local bars and restaurants. These tended to be more relaxed serving local beers wines and produce. Very friendly atmosphere. We really didn’t have to think about a thing. It was all served on a silver platter. Big thanks to all at BeyondBeach, it was a great break and your efforts were appreciated. Mark and Adele x.
