Customer service has been fantastic from point of booking to checking out. Shirley and team have been brilliant and we have had a wonderful time chartering Constance for the week. The team here are friendly, knowledgeable and are on hand for anything you need. Can’t recommend them highly enough and would definitely book to bareboat again. Thanks everyone for making our week so memorable.
Kefalonia Yacht Charter
What we say
Our Kefalonia yacht charter gives qualified skippers a private, bareboat week in one of the easiest cruising grounds in the Mediterranean. We're based at Sami harbour on the east coast of Kefalonia, with easy access to Ithaka, Meganissi, Lefkas, Kalamos and plenty more of the central Ionian.
Our charter fleet is our own (we're not agents) and well-maintained: six yachts ranging from a nippy Bavaria 32 up to the Cyclades 434 for larger groups. Each comes with a full starter pack, charts and pilot books, a tender with oars, and a free stand-up paddleboard for the week.
Perfect breezes, no tides, short line-of-sight hops between islands and a taverna-lined quay at every overnight. For sailors who already have a practical yacht sailing qualification and previous experience, who want to set off on their own pace and plan their own week. If you'd prefer a few other yachts for company and a lead boat, try our Kefalonia flotilla.

Food & drink
Food on a Kefalonia yacht charter is a plan-as-you-go situation: decide where you want to end up each evening, sail there, eat on the quay. Every harbour in the central Ionian has at least one good taverna and usually several. Breakfasts are mostly onboard; lunches at anchor; dinners in a different harbour every night.
No meals included. Starter pack on the yacht; bakeries, mini-markets and tavernas at every island along the route.

Dinner at Kalamos
Plan one night at Kalamos, even if it's a detour. The harbourmaster George runs the quay single-handed, the tavernas do honest Greek food and nothing has changed in decades. Anchor in the bay or stern-to on the quay, dinghy ashore, eat late. The best night of most charter weeks.
George's, Kalamos
Day sail northBB team favourite on the harbour. Simple Greek kitchen, warm welcome, worth any detour.
Tassia, Fiskardo
North KefaloniaLong-standing Fiskardo quayside spot, Greek classics done well. Lively evenings.
Vathi, Meganissi tavernas
2 days northPastel harbour with several excellent tavernas. The mezze here is some of the best on the charter route.
Polyfimos, Vathi Ithaka
Day sail eastHarbourfront classic in Ithaka. Try the octopus and local Vinsanto.

Itinerary
A yacht charter week is whatever you make it. Below is a classic first-time charter route from Sami, but plan your own week based on wind and the harbours you want to visit. The yacht must be back in Sami marina by 17:00 Wednesday (the day before your departure) so the team can prep her for the next charter.
Location
- Kefalonia Yacht CharterYour base
Kefalonia
Kefalonia is one of a group of islands on the western side of Greece in the Ionian sea. It is the largest of the Ionian islands and parts of the island are now national parks, home to wild horses, golden eagles and other protected flora and fauna.
Getting there
Our Sami yacht base is easy to reach: 3 hour flights to Kefalonia Airport (EFL) from most UK airports, then a 60 minute transfer round the bay. Flights are not usually included; we can book them as part of an ATOL-protected package (ATOL 12803).
Direct summer flights to Kefalonia (EFL) run from most UK airports, May to October. Pre-book a transfer on arrival (£70 private taxi / £95 minibus one-way). Note the mandatory 17:00 Wednesday return to Sami before departure day.
Pre-book the arrival transfer to Sami. Arriving before 2pm means you can get the briefing done and have dinner in Sami the first night; the first real sailing day is then Friday.
