5 Things You Must Do When Visiting Our Stira Bay Beach Club

There’s something about Stira Bay that just works for families. Life slows down, everything is within easy reach, and the days naturally fall into a rhythm of being on the water, swimming, eating, exploring and repeating.

If you’re staying with us at the beach club, here are five of our top activities we always recommend to make the most of your time here.

1. Swim at a Hidden Cove

Just a short walk from the beach club, there are many hidden coves.

Follow the trail from the beach club around the coast – within 5 minutes you will be at the first little cove, with many more just around the corner!

Clear water, sandy shores and little rocks perfect for jumping off – bring snorkels if you have them too – this is one of the best nearby spots for spotting fish in the shallows.

2. Book a Table at Sardelitsa (Trust Us)

If you do one meal out, make it Sardelitsa in Nea Styra.

It’s about a 15–20 minute walk along the seafront from the beach club and is widely known locally for incredible fresh seafood and a proper Greek taverna atmosphere.

Go at sunset, order a mix of grilled fish, salads and meze, and just settle in. It’s the kind of place where meals turn into evenings – and those are usually the best nights of the holiday.

3. Family Bike Ride: Venus Beach Hotel → Nea Styra Promenade → Return

One of our favourite family activities is getting out on bikes – and the best part is you can start right from the beach club.

From there, follow the coastal road into Nea Styra, sticking to the seafront where it’s flat and easy to ride. It’s a gentle, family-friendly route with:

  • Minimal hills
  • Beautiful sea views the whole way
  • Plenty of places to stop for a drink, snack, or ice cream

Once you reach the town promenade, you can take a relaxed break, grab a coffee or an ice cream, before heading back the same way. It’s simple, safe, and perfect for all ages.

4. Morning Stop at a Local Bakery in Nea Styra

Make this part of your daily routine: walk into Nea Styra in the morning and stop at a local bakery.

Along the seafront and main street you’ll find traditional bakeries serving fresh bread, pastries, and coffee – perfect to bring back to the beach club or enjoy overlooking the water.

Evenings are for ice cream – there are several small gelato spots along the promenade that are always a hit with kids (and adults) – a great way to watch the famous Nea Styra sunset!

5. Visit Old Styra Village (Chorio)

For something a little different, take a short taxi ride up into the hills to Old Styra (Chorio).

This traditional village sits above the bay and offers incredible views, a peaceful square, and a completely different feel from the coast. It’s also home to classic tavernas tucked under trees – perfect for a slower, more authentic evening.

If you’re feeling adventurous, the wider area is also known for ancient stone structures called Drakospita (“dragon houses”), which date back thousands of years.

Why We Love Stira Bay

The beauty of Stira Bay is how easy it is. You don’t need a packed itinerary – just a few great spots, a bit of exploring, and plenty of time to enjoy it all together.

Get on the water, swim, eat well, cycle a little, and don’t miss the sunsets.

That’s really all you need.

See you at the beach.
