Feel Viana Cabedelo
What we say
A BeyondBeach and FeelViana collaboration for 2026: a new twist on our Beach Clubs, set on the pine-backed sand dunes of Cabedelo, just across the river from the historic town of Viana do Castelo in northern Portugal.
Built in warm timber and glass, it's a four-star hotel with the family-friendly atmosphere of somewhere much smaller. Delicious local food, an incredibly welcoming team, a seriously well-equipped watersports and activities centre, and a spa for slow-down days.
The perfect compliment to our summer clubs in Greece, and a great alternative to a ski holiday through autumn, winter and spring. Think world-class kitesurfing, windsurfing, surfing and biking, with long walks on wide sandy beaches and hot-tub afternoons when you want to stop moving.

Food & drink
Eating at Feel Viana is one of the best parts of the week. The main restaurant serves fresh, locally-sourced Portuguese dishes, the beach bar is open all day, and there's a proper wood-fired pizza oven for lazier nights. Breakfast is a generous buffet; four of your seven evening meals are included.
Buffet breakfast every day, 4 evening meals included. Lunches, 3 extra dinners, drinks and beach-bar snacks are pay as you go.

We love the food
After Susy and I stayed at Feel Viana, the food was the thing we kept coming back to. Talented chefs, local produce, a genuinely varied veggie menu, and a wine list that makes the Douro valley feel very close. The weekly Portuguese night and the grilled octopus are the two dishes to ask about.
Viana do Castelo Old Town
10 min driveTen minutes up the road: a strip of tavernas and cafés around the old square. Great for an evening wander and a meal away from the hotel.
Restaurante Camelo
15 min driveClassic Minho-region tavern, popular with locals. Grilled meats, bacalhau and Vinho Verde.
Tasquinha da Linda
10 min driveSmall harbourfront spot with the freshest seafood in Viana. Try the razor clams.
Douro valley cellar doors
60 min driveDay trip to the Douro for tastings at one of the quintas. Extraordinary scenery, astonishing wine.

Itinerary
Feel Viana is deliberately flexible. Each morning you can pick an Active Pack session (surf, SUP, bike, yoga, or a guided run), dip into a second one after lunch, or spend the whole day in the spa. The rhythm below is how most guests structure a first week.

Getting there
Flights are not usually included in our holiday packages. We offer a bespoke travel experience and some guests prefer to organise their own travel independently.

Many guests do, however, choose to take advantage of our Travel Planner by booking their flights with us for the peace of mind of an ATOL protected holiday. Our ATOL license 12803 ensures that the whole holiday, including flights, is protected. Many guests also choose to hire a car and explore the Douro valley while they're out there.
Porto (OPO) has direct flights from most UK airports year-round, which is why we can keep the package flexible on arrival and departure days. Car hire makes a lot of sense if you want to poke around the Douro.
Hire a car. Porto is 45 minutes away, the Douro valley an hour past that, and the Minho is stunning for a day of quiet village-hopping. If you'd rather not drive, our pre-booked transfer meets you with a BeyondBeach board in arrivals.

Absolutely. Our beaches shelve gently and we have sessions and kit for all ages. We don't run a formal kids club, but there are regular "Meet Your Mates" sessions for kids and teens through the week.
We don't offer babysitting services — children are welcome everywhere but require parental supervision on the water and in public areas.
No — everything is turn-up-and-go. Watersports kit is on the beach free to use. Yoga and fitness sessions run to a weekly timetable posted on arrival.
Our instructors are RYA-qualified and used to total beginners. Many of our guests arrive having never been on the water and leave confident solo sailors.
