For your safety and enjoyment, the Safety Briefing at the start of your holiday week is mandatory if you wish to take part in any of our on-water activities. The watersports equipment is available for use from 10:00 to 12:30 and 14:00 to 18:00. The schedule is a guide only and may be subject to change due to factors like weather or activity demand. In-resort chalkboards always carry the latest updates.
Kefalonia is one of a group of islands on the western side of Greece in the Ionian sea. It is the largest of the Ionian islands and parts of the island are now national parks, home to wild horses, golden eagles and other protected flora and fauna.
Flights and transfers are not usually included in our holiday packages. We offer a bespoke travel experience and some guests prefer to organise their own travel independently.
Many guests do, however, choose to take advantage of our Travel Planner by booking their flights and transfers with us for the peace of mind of an ATOL protected holiday and, of course, for the added convenience. Our ATOL license 12803 ensures that the whole holiday, including flights, is protected.
Direct seasonal flights to Kefalonia (EFL) run from Gatwick, Stansted, Manchester and Bristol, May to October. If you book your own flights, please arrive by 18:00 and depart no earlier than 11:00 on your departure day.
We recommend pre-booking both arrival and return transfers with us. Kefalonia airport is small and friendly, but taxis can be in short supply on busy Sunday changeover afternoons.
Our driver will meet you in arrivals with a BeyondBeach board, help with bags, and have you at the bay in time for an evening swim and supper. On the way home, we time the transfer to the check-in cut-off so you're not standing around.
This was our 4th year of going to the Lixouri Beach Club - fantastic as always. The Beyond Beach team are super friendly, really knowledgeable and happy to help with all the little things that make the holiday so much fun. The hotel family are the nicest people and are a real example of what to expect from the Kefalonians - warm & welcoming so it's always a real pleasure to return. We're not typically a year on year repeat holiday family but this just cannot be beaten.
Spent the May half term with my family (12/15) in the Lixouri Bay Beach Resort and we had a fabulous week. Imagine a week with all of the benefits of a (insert large tour operator) but none of the drawbacks. Lixouri Bay is a fairly small hotel/villa set - family run and incredibly welcoming. Rooms were very clean, looked newly built, everything worked and our small 2 bed apartment had a beautiful view over the beach and bay. Food was delicious although I'm now going crazy trying to find greek yoghurt in the UK which comes close to the standards in the hotel. Where BeyondBeach is really set apart from the (larger operators) was on the beach. Really friendly and skilled team, great equipment and it NEVER ran out. I didn't once experience going to ask for something and not being able to get it straight away. There was never a rush for space on the beach either. Week rounded off nicely with a tremendously fun, if not very serious, mini-regatta. I'd recommend picking up a hire car if you visit so that you can see more of Kefalonia - it's definitely worth it. The restaurants in Lixouri are well worth a visit too.
Had an amazing week in Lixouri. What a beautiful island and also a lovely resort with incredible views Fabulous family run hotel were so friendly and gave us excellent ideas for touring the island and where to eat Activity wise - we were always kept busy with fitness thoughtfully altered to our injuries , sailing with a good choice of boats- loved the sail away trip , paddle boarding and windsurfing . Staff were great warm but fun whilst giving us good tips in all sports Thanks so much

Absolutely. Our beaches shelve gently and we have sessions and kit for all ages. We don't run a formal kids club, but there are regular "Meet Your Mates" sessions for kids and teens through the week.
We don't offer babysitting services — children are welcome everywhere but require parental supervision on the water and in public areas.
No — everything is turn-up-and-go. Watersports kit is on the beach free to use. Yoga and fitness sessions run to a weekly timetable posted on arrival.
Our instructors are RYA-qualified and used to total beginners. Many of our guests arrive having never been on the water and leave confident solo sailors.
