Lovely small flotilla, with a great lead crew of Maddy, Paul and Henry. Good value for money.
Kefalonia West Coast Flotilla
What we say
Our Kefalonia West Coast Flotilla is a one-way sailing holiday along one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline in the Ionian. It runs twice a year: June sails Lixouri to Sami, September sails the other way round. If you've already done our classic Kefalonia flotilla across to Ithaka and Lefkas, this is the other side of the story.
Like our other flotilla weeks, it's a small and friendly affair: only a few yachts on the route, all part of our well-maintained fleet, joined by our brilliant lead crew who provide support on every leg. Nights are split between sheltered anchorages in secluded bays and harbour stops with tavernas and cafés on the doorstep.
Fair winds, short daily hops, no tides. Off-the-beaten-track stops at Petani, Assos and Fiskardo that you won't see on the typical Ionian flotilla route. Perfect for qualified sailors wanting a different week in Greece.

Food & drink
A West Coast Flotilla week is split between sleepy anchorages (with a rowing-dinghy run to a beachside taverna) and bigger harbours with a proper strip of restaurants. First night is usually a group meal your lead crew books; the rest of the week is yours to choose from, with the crew pointing you at their favourites as you go.
No meals included. Starter pack on the yacht; bakeries, mini-markets and tavernas at every stop.

Dinner at Assos
There's a taverna on the Assos waterfront that does a whole grilled fish better than almost anywhere else in the Ionian. You sit on the quay, the sun drops behind the headland, the yacht is five metres away, and the grilled fish arrives looking exactly the way grilled fish should look. Ask your lead crew.
Assos waterfront tavernas

Itinerary
A one-week one-way route along Kefalonia's west and north coast. June sails Lixouri → Sami, September sails Sami → Lixouri — same stops, reversed order. Day 5 usually finishes at the destination port, leaving Day 6 for free sailing or a long last anchor stop. Itinerary subject to change based on wind.
Location
- Kefalonia West Coast FlotillaYour base
Kefalonia
Kefalonia is one of a group of islands on the western side of Greece in the Ionian sea. It is the largest of the Ionian islands and parts of the island are now national parks, home to wild horses, golden eagles and other protected flora and fauna.
Getting there
Both Lixouri and Sami are quick and easy to reach: 3 hour flights to Kefalonia Airport (EFL) from most UK airports, then a 50 to 60 minute transfer. Flights are not usually included; we can book them as part of an ATOL-protected package (ATOL 12803).
Direct summer flights to Kefalonia (EFL) run from most UK airports, May to October. In June you'll be met in Lixouri; in September you'll be met in Sami. Transfer is a direct taxi to Sami, or a short taxi + ferry to Lixouri.
Pre-book the arrival transfer. June Lixouri arrivals: easier via direct taxi round the bay, though a taxi + Argostoli-to-Lixouri ferry is a nicer introduction to the island. September Sami arrivals: straightforward direct taxi.
Guest reviews
Trek run an excellent flotilla with a good balance of direction vs. freedom. The lead crew (Danny & Erika) were excellent throughout, dealing with any problems in a calm and competent manner. Their professionalism coupled with a great knack of nudging your decision making in the right direction was very impressive from a young couple. Our yacht had a few problems (end of season) which they sorted efficiently whilst remaining cheery. Trek are a small company with a lovely atmosphere which I would highly recommend. Prices are very reasonable, office back-up is first rate (Mark), a good choice for Greek island sailing. Thanks, John.
Fantastic flotilla sailing holiday with Sea Trek. The communication & organisation beforehand from Mark was first rate which was very reassuring for first-time flotillers. And the flexibility to arrange a refresher day prior to departure helped a lot. Once on the flotilla we had an absolute blast - Shirley & James were helpful, informative and good leaders with a relaxed style. The week exceeded our expectations and we will be back! Thank you.
