The best family holidays give everyone their own kind of fun: watersports and a kids club for the children, real activities and a bit of downtime for the grown-ups, and meals sorted so nobody is cooking on holiday. That is exactly what we have built, on the beach in Greece and in the mountains of the French Alps. We have run active family holidays since 2001.
What is a family activity holiday?
A family activity holiday bundles your accommodation, food and a wide range of activities into one relaxed week, usually with a kids club so parents get time of their own. On ours the watersports kit and bikes are free to use, instruction is on hand, and the activities run from gentle to adventurous so every age and ability is covered.
Where can you go on a family activity holiday?
Two very different kinds of week, both family-first:
- Family beach club holidays in Greece: beachfront stays with free watersports on the calm Lixouri peninsula of Kefalonia, and on Evia.
- Summer in the French Alps: a kids club, hiking, biking and rafting from a traditional chalet in Vaujany.
- Family watersports holidays: windsurfing, paddleboarding and dinghy sailing the whole family can try.
- Family sailing holidays: flotilla and learn-to-sail weeks in the gentle Ionian.
Are these holidays good for all ages?
Yes. The beach clubs suit babies through teenagers, with shallow, sheltered water and a kids club; the Alpine Family Club is built around families with a dedicated kids club and easy-to-adventurous activities. Teenagers can push into windsurfing, sailing or mountain biking while younger children potter on the beach or in the club.
What is included?
It varies by holiday, but the common thread is value: free use of watersports equipment and bikes at the beach clubs, instruction on hand, and meals included or a self-catering villa with a hire car. Always check the specific holiday page for exactly what each week includes.
