A paddleboarding holiday does not need to be a dedicated SUP camp. The better version is a beach club week where the boards are free, the bay is flat every morning and you paddle as much or as little as the mood takes. That is how SUP works at our clubs.
Learning to SUP on holiday
Most people stand up within their first session here, and the reason is the venue rather than talent. The morning water at Lixouri Bay is sheltered and genuinely flat, the board under you is a stable 10'6" Ride, and the water is warm enough that falling in costs nothing but pride. Tuition is there when you want it; so is being left alone to figure it out.
Beyond the bay
Once you can paddle a straight line, the weekly guided excursion is the payoff: a calm-morning group paddle along the coast to bays with no road access. And if your family is on the beach anyway, the 17 foot Ride XL takes up to 10 people at once, which is less a paddle and more a floating group challenge.
Where to go
Kefalonia and Evia for classic warm-water Greek paddling at Lixouri and Stira Bay; Feel Viana in Portugal if you like the idea of flat river water one day and Atlantic beaches the next. The paddleboarding activity page lists every holiday that carries it.
