Is Kefalonia good for diving?
Yes. The Ionian water is clear and warm through the summer, with rocky reefs, swim-throughs and caves close to shore. Local dive centres around the island run guided dives and courses for all levels, from try-dives to certification.
What can you see underwater?
Expect dramatic underwater topography, walls and caverns, plus the usual Mediterranean marine life: bream, wrasse, octopus, moray eels and the occasional larger visitor. The clarity makes even shallow snorkelling worthwhile.
