Kefalonia has some of the most striking beaches in Greece. The island's geology gives it everything from sheer white cliffs to soft red sand, and because we are based on the Lixouri (Paliki) peninsula on the sheltered west side, the calmest swimming and watersport beaches are right on our doorstep.
What is the most famous beach in Kefalonia?
Myrtos is the island's signature beach: a brilliant white crescent of pebble and sand between two headlands, best seen from the viewpoint on the road above. It is stunning for a visit and a swim, though it is open water and can be lively.
Where are the calmest beaches in Kefalonia?
The Lixouri peninsula has the island's gentlest, most swimmable beaches, with shallow, clear water that is ideal for families and watersports. The distinctive red-gold sand beaches on this coast are sheltered and rarely crowded, which is exactly why our beach club and villas are here.
Which beach should you base yourself near?
For an active beach holiday, base yourself on the Lixouri side. Our Lixouri Bay Beach Club sits right on a quiet beach with free watersports equipment, and our Villa Club villas are a short hop away with access to the same facilities. From there you can easily reach Myrtos and the rest of the island for a day out.
