Sailing is one of the best holidays to do on your own, because a yacht comes with an instant crew. Our solo sailing week is built for independent travellers: you get a private cabin on a shared yacht, a skipper aboard, and a small group of like-minded people to sail with.
How does solo sailing work?
You join a shared yacht (a 2 or 3 cabin Bavaria) with your own private cabin, a skipper onboard, and other solo travellers as crew. Over the week you all sail together, share the jobs, and explore the Ionian, with the skipper teaching as you go. It is based at Lixouri Marina in Kefalonia and runs as a 7-night week, with five days of yacht sailing plus a chartwork and theory refresh.
Do I need experience to sail solo?
No. The week suits solo travellers from age 16 up, whether you are a beginner or brushing up. There is an optional ICC route if you want to leave with a recognised qualification.
Is there a single supplement?
You have your own private cabin, so there is no awkward room-sharing. Mooring fees, water, fuel and gas are included in the week. Check the holiday page for the current price and dates (May, June and September).
